Aladin redesigns fresh product supply
chains Within fresh product
supply chains, product losses are estimated at between 5 and 10%. Moreover, a
considerable mismatch is observed between available and required product quality:
products delivered are observed to be either too ‘old’ (e.g. indicated by
color changes or reduced firmness) or too ‘young’ (e.g. green banana’s). |

What is Aladdin? Aladin is a software tool which contains quality decay models of fresh products during (conditioned) storage and distribution. Fresh product supply chains can be simulated, visualized and analyzed. Aladin adds keeping-quality to classical performance indicators such as transportation costs, stock levels, and delivery reliability. In this way, Aladin helps you to (re)design your fresh product supply chain. Aladin’s core consists of quality decay models, which describe quality behavior, from bell peppers to roses, under specified conditions (temperature, relative humidity, etc.). These models are developed by experts in Agrotechnology & Food Innovations during experiments under controlled conditions Perspectives
Aladin is a research product of Agrotechnology & Food Innovations BV and it is in a continuous development stage. Case examples
